Physiology of the Fetal to Neonatal transition; Perinatal Asphyxia; Resuscitation in the Delivery Room; Oxygen: physiology, hypoxia/hyperoxia derived toxicity, oxidative and nitrosative stress and biomarkers; microRNA [&] epigenetics and oxygen; Redox Regulation.
Microbiome in extremely preterm infants. Influence of own mother’s milk/pasteurized human milk. Studies on inflammation and oxidative stress in exfoliated intestinal cells.
Perinatal infectious diseases. GWAS and microRNA.
Perinatal psychological stress and consequences.
Methodology: Targeted and untargeted metabolomics; HPLC or GC coupled to Mass Spectrometry; LC-QTOF approach. Capillary electrophoresis. Vesicles.
